CultureWorks "Close Knit"

By CultureWorks (other events)

2 Dates Through Mar 02, 2017

ABOUT ABOUT

Calling all wannabe, experienced, and somewhere-in-between knitters! Are your fingers cold as you type? Do you have a project you're already working on - and want to continue doing so in a group?

Take your Thursday evening break with us and learn how to create fingerless gloves in Peruvian wool of the Andes.

At Close Knit, CultureWorks new knitting series, we’ll be knitting fingerless gloves over the course of two sessions. If you've got enough gloves and happen to have another project on the needles, feel free to bring that along and join us at our office over coffee, snacks, and skeins. CultureWorks Member and textile-artist extraordinnaire, Bonnie MacAllister, will guide this series and teach you skills such as pattern reading, knitting, purling, and casting on and off, as well as the confidence to work larger, different projects with your new chops.

Also, did you know that the repetitive action of knitting can induce a relaxed state like that associated with meditation and yoga? That combined with some good company is exactly how you should be spending your Thursday evenings.

Close Knit is free and open to the public - all levels welcome. If you'd like to follow along with the fingerless glove pattern, the materials fee is $10 (includes yarn of various colors & bamboo knitting needles).

WHEN:  Thursday, 2/23 and Thursday, 3/2 from 5:30-7:30PM.

RSVP: Reserve your tickets here
(See note below, if following along with the glove pattern)

PLEASE NOTE: If you’ll be following along with the fingerless glove pattern, please be sure to secure your spot and select the "General Admission: CultureWorks Buys My Materials" option by Thursday, February 16th.
